Hallo an alle! Vom 01.01. auf den 02.01.2017 sind wir über Nacht mit dem Greyhound-Bus von L.A. nach Phoenix gefahren. Leider war das Ganze etwas ungemütlich und es waren Gott sei Dank keine gruseligen Leute im Bus. Wir kamen um etwa 7:00 Uhr in Phoenix an und von dort holte uns dann die zukünftige Mitbewohnerin von Uli ab. Sie fuhr mit uns quer durch Tempe, damit wir alle wichtigen Sachen kaufen konnten, die wir für den Anfang brauchen. Am Abend fand dann auch gleich eine Party im Apartment von Max statt, wo ich gleich viele neue Kontakte knüpfen konnte. Meine Unterkunft is „The District on Apache“, welche am Foto zu sehen ist. Die Anderen sind etwas neidisch, weil mein Zimmer der Hammer ist und ich sogar eine Badewanne habe. Die erste Nacht verbrachte ich noch allein und am zweiten Tag kam dann meine Mitbewohnerin aus Kanada an. Sie lud am Abend 6 Leute zu uns ins Apartment ein, woraus aber dann 35 Leute wurden. Es war jedoch keiner so betrunken, dass die Party eskalierte. Am 04.01. kam dann auch meine zweite Mitbewohnerin aus Minnesota an, die auch sehr nett ist. Vom 04.01. – 06.01.2017 hatten wir dann Orientierungsveranstaltungen mit gratis Essen. Dort erzählten sie uns alle Dinge, die wir wissen sollten. Am Abend des 05.01. gingen wir dann alle gemeinsam zum Basketball-Spiel der ASU Sun Devils. Wir feuerten das Team an und es herrschte eine einzigartige Stimmung. Leider bin ich etwas verkühlt, was in den kommenden Tagen hoffentlich besser wird.
Hi everyone! In the night from January 1st til January 2nd we were driving from L.A. to Phoenix with the Greyhound bus. Unfortunately this was quite uncomfortable, but fortunately there were no scary people at all. We arrived at about 7.00 am, where Uli’s future roommate picked us up. She was driving us through Tempe, so we could get all the stuff we needed for the first days. In the evening of the first day there was a party at Max‘ place, where I meet many new, interesting people from all over the world. My accommodation is „The District on Apache“, which you can see on the picture. The others are kind of jealous, because my room is stunning and I have even a bath tub. I was alone in the apartment for the first night and on the second day my roomie from Canada finally arrived. She invited 6 people to our apartment for hanging out in the evening, but suddenly 35 people came. Nevetheless, nobody was too drunk and nothing got damaged. On January 4th, my second roomie from Minnesota arrived, who is also very nice. From January 4th til January 6th we had Student Orientation with free food. They told us the most important facts about ASU. On January 5th in the evening we went to the Basketball game from ASU Sun Devils. The atmosphere was awesome. Unfortunately, I’ve catched a cold, but hopefully, it gets better soon.
